Red

Sweet Jesus, you all want me to dye my hair RED. I really, truly didn't expect that. There are still a few more days left to "vote" in my sidebar "poll", but I'm pretty sure that if I listen to my readers, I'll be a copper top in a few weeks, too.

Truly, I'm nervous about this. Jason always said he'd never dye me that color, since red is a bitch to get out should I ever want to go blonde again. Anybody got any advice on this before I get too far in over my head?

just make sure to match the curtain to the drapes!

But why wouldn't you be surprised. It's a long running known fact that the people traveling these vast tubes like them some redheads.

I'm a dark blonde who's been stealth red for decades now, and I have to say that red fades just fine. All it takes to fade it naturally, and with very little stress, is daily washing, and lots of time in the sunshine. This is, in fact, often the bane of stealth reds, because our coppery shine can often fade down a lot between treatments.

You might consider henna though, if you've a swatch you can test-strip.

Hi,
I just stumbled upon this site and I really like it:) But I can tell you one thing. I've gone from blonde to red and back to blonde. And it was a B.I.T.C.H but totally worth it, being a redhead is so much fun.

But you should seriously think about it, once you've done it, it will take months to be blonde and there will still be red there .. hiding away.

If you do go red, don't stress. If it doesn't turn out the way you like it, you can just go brunette.

Go red.
Light eyes and light skin look good with red hair!
Go natural red, nothing florescent or artificial, more like strawberry blonde with golden highlights and copper lowlights, that;d be perfect.
Think nicole kidman, not elmo.

I've been red, and it's a kick-ass color but it's a bitch to get out. Also, red turns orange if you don't keep up the maintenance.

What happens to 'undercover blonde' if you go red? Suggestion: go for some red lowlights to offset the blonde instead of full-on copper. I love red - it's a power-color!

Blondes may have more fun, but red heads kick more ass!

Red is awesome, but know that it REALLY fades quickly, so it's kind of a pain.

The first time I went red, it came out Ronald McDonald red...no joke. I went to a local hairdresser (not even my normal one) and she was able to get me back to blond and even improved it ten fold. If you trust your hairdresser and he's willing to experiment, I'd say go for it. I've been red for 6 years now and have no regrets or wants to go back. Plus, it will give you an excuse to use your sarcastic tone with some of your mouthier customers...no one sasses a feisty redhead :)

As long as you let the red fade you'll be fine, but if you go in to your hair stylist wanting to go from red to blond in one sitting. It won't happen. I tried once and my hairstylist fried my hair. It was horrible. I ended up having my hair bleached 3 times and had a chemical burn on my scalp from it. And I still had pink highlights.

So think long and hard if you'll be able to handle waiting for the red to fade.

No Kitty- it could end up being a disaster! Don't ruin a good thing, in my humble POV- just take it all the way- ya love retro so much, just take it to platinum!

I say do it. Red is the second most fun hair color. I am a natural blonde and have died my hair every imaginable color. Currently I have the "skunk" with the top panel my natural blonde, and the underneath a burgundy. The red fades quickly and has to be redone every 2-3 weeks.
