1 in 20:the epilogue

So, further consultation with the Mathematician has confirmed that, according to the stats referenced in this post, you are six times more likely to be gay than you are to be a natural adult blonde.

For the record, this is indeed basic statistical math that anyone who wasn't totally intimidated by fractions probably could have sorted out on their own. But hey, if East Side Girl can rely on spiceboy to kill the bugs, I think it's perfectly appropriate for me to rely on the Mathematician to sort out little details like statistics.

6 times more likely to be gay than to be naturally blonde. Well how 'bout that.

What about redheads? How often do we occur naturally?

Umm, smartypants that I am, I googled "natural redheads" to try and answer your question, and my search turned up over an entire page of porn sites!!! One of them was called BLONDE REDHEAD, which is the name of a really cool indie band that the Mathematician likes--tread carefully though, becuase this BLONDE REDHEAD site is about blonde-on-redhead action.

Ewwww......

Anyway, the stats I found say that only 4% of the population carries the recessive red hair gene! AND, naturally red hair occurs so infrequently in nature already, there is talk that real live redheads will be extinct in the not so distant future. Allegedly, unless there is some unknown evolutionary advantage to having red hair, redheads will someday disappear...
